Our free breakthrough sessions last 45 minutes. You don’t need to worry about having any financial information prepared ahead of time. Our conversation will be relatively casual; I want to hear what’s on your mind, make sure you leave the call with at least one key takeaway you can implement immediately, and we will discuss what it would look like to work together.
I started Pacesetter Planning on November 7, 2016. To put that in context: that was the day before the 2016 presidential election. (You’re not alone if you feel like that happened yesterday and like it happened 100 years ago at the same time.)
We specialize in helping couples learn how to manage money effectively together. In my experience, most financial planners treat couples’ dynamics around money as “third rail” issues to be avoided at all cost. We apply best practices from the fields of financial planning and financial therapy to help couples get on the same financial page and use their money to create their dream lives – together.
Yes! We’ve worked with couples in work with couples all across the country. We hold all of our meetings over Zoom, even for clients who live locally. (At this time, we unfortunately do not work with couples who reside outside of the United States.)
We work with couples who want to make sure that money is an asset to their marriage, rather than a liability. (Pun intended!) Most of the couples we work with are getting ready for a major life change, regularly fight about money, or are engaged or newly married.
A fee-only a financial planner isn’t paid by insurance or investment companies to sell financial products; the only form of compensation they receive is from their clients directly. A fiduciary is a financial planner who is legally required to act in your best interest at all times. Pacesetter Planning is a fee-only, fiduciary financial planner. You can check out our legally-binding fiduciary oath here. (You’d think that being legally obligated to act in your clients’ best interest would be standard in the financial planning world, but it sadly isn’t.)
I am governed by the investment advisory laws in my home state of Virginia, which do not currently allow investment advisors to use testimonials in their marketing.
My starting rate is $397/month for couples who have under $500,000 in investments that they would like me to manage. You can find more information about my rate, and what you get for it, on the services page.
